Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) And Diet - Grapefruit

As we mentioned in previous articles, premenstrual syndrome effects a women's physical and emotional state, and sometimes interferes with daily activities as a result of hormone fluctuation. The syndrome occurs one to two weeks before menstruation and then declines when the period starts.

I would like to finish the series with final chapter " premenstrual syndrome and diet". Intake the chapter recommended diet will help to reduce the risk of re occurred symptoms, because no matter how good the self help program, or natural remedies are, without changing or supplement your diet with food rich with vitamins and minerals, the reoccurred rate of premenstrual symptom is 100%.

It is recommended to drink one glass of pure and organic grape fruit juices a day.
1. Vitamins
Grape fruit contains high amount of vitamin C and other vitamins such as A, B complex which only helps to increase the elastic of capillary wall but also increase the effectiveness of transportation of information between cells thereby, decreasing the risk of nervous tension including depression, anxiety and emotional and physical stress.

2. Bioflovonoid
It also contains bioflavonoid which promote our body health by strengthening not only the capillaries and other connective tissues in the body, but also helps to reduced the risk of insulin fluctuation (quercetin) and inflammation and infection ( antioxidant).

3. Minerals
Grape fruit contains high amount of magnesium and potassium. As we know while potassium is vital in regulating the levels of sodium and reducing the risk of water retention in the body tissue, magnesium helps not only as a neurotransmitter enhancer but also control the levels of glucose and insulin in blood stream by increasing the liver function in bile production and regulating the pancreas in insulin production.

4. Lycopene
Lycopene is powerful antioxidant which not only helps to protect the invasion of bacteria and virus and against the forming of free radical, it also increase the immune system in regulating the allergic reaction thereby, decreasing the risk of premenstrual symptoms caused by environment reaction.

5. pectin fiber
It also contain pectin fiber which helps to decrease the risk of constipation and diarrhea, thereby increasing the digestive system in absorbing vital nutrients which are found deficient for some women with PMS.

Grapefruit contains certain chemical compounds such as naringin and bergamottin which interfere with some conventional medication including beta blocker and cyclosporin, please consult with your doctor if you are taking some medicine.

If you are taking certain medicine, please consult with your doctor before applying.
